Modi Sarkar- A Fascist Durbar

Anyone who watched scrupulously the Modi Sarkar unfold over the last four years would have no contradictions with the title. For others struck by selective amnesia when the nation was sordidly turned into a demonic hotchpotch, I pity them. For the shock is going to be ruder when they realize that the axe they were setting up over others head will swing over theirs too. The blatant profligacy of vituperative communal thoughts and odious claims of irrational myths has been the agenda of the Modi Sarkar’s- Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas. Add to that their strong apprehension and slander against various glorious doctrines which includes Theory Of Evolution and Constitution Of India. And not to miss their magnanimity in professing preposterous philosophies like the PM likening pakoda selling as a job creation, a Valmiki cleaning drainage as a divine duty and his protege Biplab Kumar Deb asking the million unemployed Indians to set up paan shops instead of running behind Government jobs. All these narratives over the past years have just cast an elegiac shadow over India. The way country is run and the carte blanche given to fascist elements is just disgusting. The open empathy towards certain activities and their condonation have just debased the values which were emblematic of the nation India. Two such activities have impelled me to write this. A death threat video sent to NDTV journalist Ravish Kumar by a Bajrang Dal worker, an accomplice of the BJP’s parent organization RSS, is mortifying. The journalist was threatened to being shot and chased to Pakistan, and warned of sexual abuse happening to any of his family women. This is just one of the many incidents which show the wide prevalence of schizophrenia in current India. This disease is a handiwork of a syndicate run by the current ruling party and the Prime Minister. Another equally mortifying incident which is unrepresentative of secular India is of Rana Ayyub’s. An independent journalist and the author of a book called Gujarat Files had to face severe traumatizing incidents which any individual would not want to face, even in their wildest dreams. After several threats over phone and Internet to her from supporters of BJP asking her to stopher work about the Gujarat Riots failed, these men who wear patriotism on their sleeves stooped to a new low to stymie her. These mighty warriors of a deadly organization released a pornographic clip morphed with her face. And later circulated a social media post with her mobile number and address and asking for her to be gang-raped! For those angered but still surprised over why I had written this under the rubric of Modi Sarkar, there is an indelible connection. These two incidents and several others across the length and breadth of India have that connection which is incredible. The perpetrators of these ghastly acts are followed by the Prime Minister Of India Modi. For those who still speculate and worry about the real culpability of a man for just following a person, here is another evidence to underline the moral and ethical behaviour of the man following. Admirably Modi took no pain to unfollow them but found his kitchen space to unfollow a woman who had lodged a complaint against a BJP leader. Admirably a person followed by Modi celebrated Gauri Lankesh’s murder and the defence came from BJP-the Prime Minister cannot fetter the freedom of expression of an individual. So gratuitous of Modi that he takes no time to accept the fitness challenge of Kohli but takes a week time and that too in London to speak about the rape and murder of an 8-year-old. That too, he asks for not politicizing rapes. But, like the million followers of Modi who suffer from selective amnesia, Modi in the very next week in an election rally seeks votes by harping about rape. And so intelligent of those Indians who took him as a change. And so generous of all those Indians who take time to painstakingly justify each of his golden lies. And so happy of all those Indians who call Modi and Shah as saints and deify them. Will India stay the way it was earlier is questionable and its imagination undesirable. But all that I can do, write and t pity those Indians who have selective amnesia. And empathise with the future generation delivered an India which is not India for them to live.
